Help Please: Bosch replacement fuel pump different from OEM

I ordered a bosch fuel pump online. The original pump has a red " relief hose " that Bosch does not have. The hose runs from the bottom of the pump up the side and vents into the tank. Anybody has any idea what this hose is and why it is not on the replacement pump. Thanks.
