Hey guys/girls I need some suggestions please. I have a 2.4k series with a blown head gasket. I just bought it so I don't know that much about how to fix it or what vendors to use for quality aftermarket or stock parts . Any suggestions for a Girl in distress? Thanks

Are you looking to do the work yourself or just a point in the right direction?

what do you want to do with the car? what is the budget?

If you want to keep the KA motor then a stock headgasket will do fine.

I'm planning on doing a good bit of the work myself with help from close friends that are machanics. As far as the point in the right direction.. car was running fine then all the sudden i noticed that the motor started to make a bubble'N noice. I checked the fluids to find the mix of oil and coolant in the reservoir. I assumed it's a blown head gasket. Is there any possiblites it could be somthing else? Is there a known problem with these motors you can feel me in on. When asking what to do with car.....when removing the cams a friend noticed rubs or scratches on the cam journals... so I was going to send out head and get new cams. Then the ??.... aftermarket or stock . I don't owe anything on the car so aftermarket sounds good....Budget?? I don't know if I really have one right now. I don't want to go extrem right now cause it's my daily driver but I hope to get parts that will build me up to get there. Sorry this is so long.
