I have owned a 1995 Q45t for 8 years. Car has 200K and has died on me 5 or 6 times while driving over the past 2 weeks. Seems as if the fuel pump or something is going out. Each time it stalled it either started up right away, a few minutes later, or in one case, the next day. No engine stuttering just runs or doesn't. Has anyone had this happen? If so, any suggestions on what to check. Right now my Q45 is in the driveway and will not start. Thanks

You need to check the fuel pressure first. If the fuel pump will not run, then also check the FPCU, which you should do anyway if you ran the pump into the ground as that usually takes out the FPCU also.

Next time, post some maintenance history concentrating on the intake and fuel system. New OEM fuel filter in the last year?

Finally, go around to the back of your car and read what's on the trunk.

Assume you do have an FSM and have studied it?

I've been having a similar problem. No MIL? Mine ran the MIL a couple times, but hasn't for a while. I, too, have suspected the pump. I've covered my bases with the MAF and all major electrical connections besides the computers. I seriously doubt the spark is cutting. Also replaced fuel filter. I'm hoping the next time she bites the bullet it'll run another code special for me.

Thanks for all the feed back and link to the Manuals. This car has been great to me for over 175K miles with minimal maintenance required. It has been awhile since i have had it professionally serviced. The challenge is that the shop requires my car to be running to be able to diagnos it and currently it does not run. I will take your points below and see if i can get it working this weekend. Thanks

The Q is similar to a woman, it requires regular feeding and maintenance just to operate, and by performing aggressive preventative maintenance using top quality parts/fluids allows you the benefit of being able to drive it hard and long without complaints or breakdowns.

I'm having to replace my Crank Angle Sensor due to similar problem. Basically the two things you're looking at here are spark and fuel. Running and then not running intermittently points to an electrical issue, bad ground or connection, bad sensor. The MAF, CAS and fuel pump could all cause this kind of driveability problem. Because you're car would run and then just die it points to a controlling unit opposed to just one bad plug, or two failed injectors since it is affecting all at the same time. So either your spark is cutting out or your fuel is cutting out. Run a self test on the computer and see if anything turns up, though it may not.

I would open the air intake box and at least clean the MAF. I've dealt with this problem in the past, and the MAF definitely causes the car to randomly stall. I'd suspect it more than anything else.
