I do this now and then when I accidentally turn the switch back to 2WD while my differential shift lever is in low. I know that you will have different switches, etc, but you should be able to adapt it.
I find an open space like a large parking lot or quiet street and perform the following procedure,
1) While the vehicle is driving in a straight line at less than 5 mph, I put the vehicle in neutral, switch the dash switch to LOCK, and pull the differential lever to LO.2) Put the vehicle back in gear and drive forward about 50 ft. in a straight line.3) While still driving straight, slow back down to less than 5mph, put the vehicle in neutral, and put the differential lever to HI.4) Put the vehicle back in gear and drive forward about 50 ft. in a straight line.5) Switch the dash switch back to 2WD.
This fixes mine every time without fail. The procedure was outlined in my owner's manual. You might check yours to see if there is one for the 2005.
