Ok, so recently, we had a cold snap, and I noticed that my heat took forever to come on, and that it was only warm, not hot. After searching the forums, I found that it could be the thermostat. So, I changed mine. While changing the thermo, I noticed my coolant was all rusty. So I flushed the system. 2 days later, my water pump went. So I changed it. Again, while I was in there, I flushed the system just to be sure. Now, with a new water pump, and a new Thermostat and new coolant, I keep overheating. Fine in the driveway, but once I run the car for 10-15 minutes, slow speeds, stop lights, etc. cause me to overheat. I did put in a strong mix of coolant vs water, and I did paint the outside of the water pump. Neither should make any difference. So WTH??? I refilled the coolant through the radiator, pulled the bolt out that relieves the pressure and filled it until the coolant came out there. What else can i do? Anyone know why I keep overheating?

most likely an air bubble in the coolant system. ka24de's are a bit** to bleed out. park the car on an incline set the pbrake and chock the rear tires. jack the front of the car up as high as you can get it and put it on stands. then pop the rad cap and the bleed valve on the intake manifold. fill till there is no air left. put the bleeder screw back in, start the motor with the rad cap off and warm it up. dont forget to turn on the heater. once warm have someone hold the motor arround 2500 or 3k and top off the rad, replace the rad cap, and your done. pat yourself on the back.

Given that was a response by a Z32 person, they probably don't know how stubborn air bubbles are in KAs. The air bubble is the most logical at this point.

no real way to "check" but im betting the boat on on a bubble. just dont run it till you get it sorted out, or you will end up with a blown head gasket

Actually there is a way to know if the head gasket is blown. I used to work at a Honda dealership and one of the techs had a block checker. its a tube that you fill with special liquid and then put it on the radiator opening. I won't explain how to use it cause the tool comes with directions. But that is a way to check it.

Thank you for all your help, it was indeed a bubble... I put it on an incline, opened the rad cap, as well as the bleeder near the intake, and ran it for 20-30 minutes. The bleeder kept bubbling, so I figured it was the air coming out, then I bounced the car up and down several times. After what seemed like forever, the bubbles stopped, so I topped it off. I waited a few hours and just got back from the test drive. The temp indicator rose to it's normal level and didn't fluctuate at all over a 10-15 minute drive. I think this time it's actually fixed! (Aside from a leaky hose somewhere... maybe under the intake?) Anyway, Thanks alot guys!
