So my friend informed me that his shop has an 50AE sitting in their yard. I'd like to get the injectors, turbo, manifold, drivers side mount, fuel pump, and cross member. The mount, pump, injectors, and cross member are not part of what I need help with as they are simple and mostly cheap to get a hold of. However, what should I pay for the turbo and manifold in good condition? What should I pay if the turbo blew a seal? I live in Montana and there aren't many Z31's here. So, I'm expecting maybe $175-200 for the turbo and manifold in good condition; is that a fair price to expect? Thanks

Normally I'd agree, but I've got access for good prices. I know the shop owner really well and my friend informed me about an 84AE with a crushed rear end sitting on the lot. I know I can talk him down because that Z will sit for a while before he even grabs a part off of it. He won't pass up money now.

still seems like a better choice since like you said Z31s are hard to find where you live. just in case something happens to your z31 then you have a parts car that you can use.

If I lived in my old house, yeah. But I don't have any room at my new house. Plus I live on the side of a mountain with no level parking. It's just not smart for me to focus on getting a parts car.

So living on the side of the mountain must make eating dinner hard eh? :)

I might suggest wheel chocks or other mechanical means of stopping the car, if parking perpendicular to the slope is impossible...

As I said, I just don't have room at my house. My landlady only allows 3 vehicles and she's pissed that we have 4 already. I can't get rid of any of them. My room mate has her car, I've got my Honda Rancher, 95 Grand Prix (grocery getter/winter driver), my built 05 Sunfire (which I can't even attempt to get a good price for it here in Montana), and the 84 NA. If I didn't live in the North, I'd sell the GP no problem. Which is why I was asking for opinions on price for turbo and manifold to see if I was in the ball park so I'm not surprised by what the guy asks.

I want to say the last turbo manifold I sold went for $50 or there about, the turbo itself, well if it's an 84 it's not watercooled but it is the T3, unknown condition I'd think $100 is more than fair, if there is no shaft play and no signs of leakage it might be worth a couple hundred but I'd try finding a water cooled center section.

Thank you. I would prefer one that is water cooled. But I've been looking everywhere both online and off for Z31's and the Turbo 280Z and I can't find a good T3 for less than $500. So I'd rather grab this one, use it for a while (with a hood swap), and then swap turbos. Thanks again.

I made some arrangements, gonna keep my GP at my friends house (he has parking for 13 vehicles) and I'm going to get the whole care. He won't part it out unfortunately. But he will sell it for $500. I can live with that. Rip out what I want, sell some other stuff, scrap the car. Might be into it for a total of $300. It'll be a few weeks until he gets the title from the Sheriff, but I can wait. Evildky, for all the times you've helped me, any parts you'd like a chance at? You and Zbum can have first pick at what I don't need.
