Okay so i'm kinda new here and kind of a noob, so if you're going to be a hater then GTFO.

So recently in the last couple of days i've been guttin out all my interior and i've reached the point to where I need to take out the dash so i can get out the sound deading with the dry ice method. I have just about gotten out all of the sound deading except for the hard to reach part under the dash. I have researched some stuff about how to get that dash out and have unscrewed and taking out everything that holds it on. It still won't come out though. I read you can pretty much pull it out after all the screws are out but it just won't come out??

If anyone has any ideas why i can't get it out and how i can be able to take it out please give me any information you know about it. If anyone also has any tips on guttin out all the interior that would be very helpful.

It all seems pretty simple but the sound deading is a b**** and i'm not sure how I will be able to get out all the tar residue from under the sound deading. Oh and also does anyone have any idea how to get the sound deading off the chassis over the tires? Any information will be a big help. Thanks!

yeah theres a bunch of stuff that's still gonna hold it in besides the screws, but assuming you got all that, IIRC the dash isn't just held on with screws. the top forward edge of it(where the defroster vents are) actually hooks onto.....something. so you have to lift up on that front part, then it will pull free.

The dash was not hard to take out.Like already said drop the steering column.Take the bezel and Gauge cluster out. There is a couple of bolts near the gauge cluster.Remove the glove box.Remove both kick panel.Take the cover off under the steering column. There are 3 bolts on top under the heater vents.I also loosened the e-brake handle just to make a little more room. With all that removed u should be able to see all the bolts to take out.Oh ya take out the radio and the heater control unit. The sound deeding that is under the dash is a little different than that of the floors. It's tons easer as it just breaks apart and falls out.Be warned, after taking this out it gets somewhat hot and blows on u,and the trans tunnel gets hot also. The exhaust runs right under u and when racing it can get hot.I have put in some heat shielding material around the tunnel and the floor up to the firewall to keep heat down.
As for the wheel wells.I used a propane torch.Heat just until it bubbles and scrap it off.Lots of work.If u are taking it of the outside, personally i would leave it alone unless u are going for a show car finish or it's rusty. just my 2 cents hope it helps.

Yeah, I mean i have an 89 and it just really needed all this. Rust in the trunk, I had some mice in my car for awhile, holes in the interior and it was just falling apart. It was an awful sight I hope to never see in my 240 again. Lol I've found ancient stuff under all the interior and it's just gross. The whole car was just wrigged crazy from the owner before me. Missing screws/bolts everywhere! When i say everywhere I mean everywhere. Most of the dash had barely any screws and what screws it did have were all stripped.

Thanks for all the help from everyone. I still have not yet to get it out but i'm working on it . Lol Here are some pictures so I can help you help me.

Drop the steering column. Also, make sure you got the screws under the defrost vents and the screw behind the center vent.
