I am trying to install an autometer tach in my 240 and have come to realize that I need to also install a tach adapter. Now my question is where I would have to hook up the 12v signal wire. Do I need to get it directly from each coil or is there a single 12v line I can hook it up too? any help would be greatly appreciated

i believe the signal wire can be tap in on the harness by the ecu, yellow red wire. have you tried that? as far as 12v power, you can basically connect it to any switched 12v source.

Per the instruction you need to intercept the 12volt wire to the coil packs it covered in there instructions double check it...

sorry, i was implying something else.

anyways, from what i'm glancing over the diagrams, the 12v signal goes between the igniter and the coil packs. not the individual color wires, which are trigger-wires (-).

Sorry forgot to mention that this is on a SII motor, so I don't have an igniter
