Hello. Currently I own a 66 mustang so all my expertise is with carburetted, n/a 289's and 302's. However I plan on selling it this summer and am pretty much set on building up a CA18DET and putting it into a 510.

After many hours of reading this forum, 240sx.com, and various other links, I believe I've put together a pretty complete rebuild/build list of parts. My goal is to get around the 350hp mark in a reliable manner.

Couple questions:Head gasket- I went onto cometic's site looking for head gasket. The only listed gasket I found had a 85mm bore. Will this work for the CA18DET, or did I overlook a gasket with a 83mm bore?FMIC- I have absolutely no clue about what companies are reputable in these? Any suggestions?Radiator- I know about the electric fan from the escort, but is there a preferred radiator that seems to work, mount, etc. better with the CA?Gasket Kit- Is there a site where I can still order the gasket kit for the whole engine?

Anything I'm overlooking? Thoughts, opinions? Also, I plan on going megasquirt with this, do I still need to mess with the ecu and that jazz? Thanks guys.

I'm not averse to doing my own research, in fact, I'd almost rather do it, but a little guidance and help would be appreciated. Remember, this is an entirely new world for me, as it's just about as far away from a 66 na 289 as I can get. Thanks againl

Ha, no thanks. Not really interested in the 240, just the engine. My current plan is to drop it into an old Datsun 510.

Thanks. Unlike many, I actually search for information and answers to questions I may have. I do this for everything I buy that costs a good amount of money. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right.

Best 510 site I've found: http://www.therealm510.com.

Good luck selling it. The only z I'd be interested in owning would be 240z, which I placed behind doing the CA18DET swap into a 510.

some people on here rock the XS power(ebay) FMIC, just make sure you get one designed for an S14.

Koyo seems to be the jam when it comes to radiators. Also ford Taurus's fans pull alot of air
