Hey guysFirst i wanna say hi to everyone and happy new year. Im a new be to the rb forum usually i was in the ca.

I was planning to swap a ca into my 92 fastback. But lets just say Christmas was very giving. And now im going for the rb25det.

I want to know if theres any sites or if anyone can explain to me exacntly how to do the swap. I have done motor swaps before but not like this.

I want to know exactly what is it with the engine mounts. I have searched like crazy ive been searching since 10 am today and its already 2 am. But i havent found anything really solid. What i find solid is of the s14 chassis when i have an s13.

I want to know what wireharness changes have to be done. Do i have to extend the wire harness a lot of what exactly.

And how about the anti sway bar, ive read that it comes across the way with the oil pan and ive read it doesnt. BUt i wasnt sure if this was within the s14 chassis or the s13.

How bout air conditioning, Can i use the ka compressor and lines. or what has to be done for that. Can i even have ac. And Power steering does it have to get illiminated or what modifications have to be done.

Also whats the best rb25det motor to buy. I read somewhere online that the 98 have around 20 more horsepower. Is it true or na. And if it is whats the difference in price.

I have about 6 grand to play with. Do you guys think it will go for more. When i can get the motor for around 3 grand.

Another thing is the driveshaft and rear end does it have to be changed. I know i need a vlsd or something similiar and i read about the driveshaft has to be custom just want to have my facts clear.

Also how hard is it to find parts for this motor. I mean if the waterpump goes bad how long do i have to wait to recieve one and is it a lot more money. What if the timing belt goes bad or a fauled out plug. What parts are changeable withing american nissans or so. IF not where can aftermarket parts be found and stock parts.

Another thing is i already have a fmic and a whalbro 255lb fuel pump un installed. and i will be doing all the work my self so no labor charges.

Guys please help me out and dont tell me to search. cause ive been searching well over 2 days non stop and everytime i see a good topic u guys say search. And i search and couldnt find the perfect answers. Thanks alotAlex

P.S. I have a 92 240sx fast back 5spd.

the mounts you can make yourself, or get from mckinney motorsports. you can also use the skyline crossmember and stock mounts.

the wiring harness has to be swapped for the rb's harness [duh].

the ac is custom [your on your own]

the PS requires having new lines made [not a big deal].

and the downpipe and exhaust needs to be figured out.

its a pain, but not as much of a pain as the rb26.

some parts are interchangeable. theres a sticky about it.

also, some companies are begining to stock rb parts in america, so it brings the wait time down considerably.

HEyWell i know the wireharness has to be swapped. Obviously. But i was gonna install a 2jz in my 88 supra and the whole wireharness had to extended thats what i meant.

And when you say the mounts can be custom by me what do you mean.

Also Around how long do you think the swap would take working an average of about 8-10 hours a day. Thanks

i believe the only part of the harness that needs to be extended is the wiring for the interior harness connection.

i mean custom mounts. trial fit the motor, break out a compass ruler and protractor, and get to welding, or have a machine shop make them.

it would probably take at least a couple of days. like a week to do it right, probably.

oh ok. Ive read on someother topics. That the r33 crossmember or the ka crossmember and mounts can be used but u have to cut the hood braces off. can you clear me up with this.

ok. the RB crossmember can be used with stock RB mounts, but you have to cut some of the bracing from under the hood.

the KA crossmember can be used if you do custom mounts, or use mckinneys mounts. then the hood doesnt need to be cut.

do a little searching in this forum and you will find the info you are looking for. I used mckinney mounts and driveshaft and the total was $1150. Had to make a small dent in the firewall, but that was the only mod to make the motor fit.

The wiring for the MAF, Boost cut solenoid, and O2 sensor all need to be extended also...the MAF and O2 need shielded wire also.
