hello to all infiniti owners. i'm new to this site and i hope someone can help me get my Q45 back on the road. a friend of mine gave me the car after he tried to work on the original engine but got frustrated and gave up working on the engine. besides the engine, the car's interior and exterior is in a very good condition. after 16 years, whatever accessories the car has when my friend bought it are still in the car. i was able to get hold of an engine from a 1993 Q45 and brought the car to a friend's shop to do the engine swap. everything was going smoothly as planned... the replacement engine was installed in no time. everything seems to be connected where it should be connected. purchased a new battery, checked the ECU and again checked if the engine is all set to go. the shop gave me the assurance that i will have the car rolling out of the shop within days. last week the shop tried to start the car to no avail. they said they checked on the fuel injectors and it seems okay. the words that gave me a big concern were "it seems okay". it seems that the injectors are not doing what it should be doing. i hope someone could guide me of what i should do to get the Q45 back on the road.

Is the car turning over and trying to start? Also, is the fuel pump operating properly?

And I also have to ask about chain guides. Read this article: zerothread?id=25201 . If the guides haven't been done, they need to be ASAP.

obviously you need 3 things for the engine to run. fuel, compression, and spark. Check your fuel pressure first, and then go from there....

Hard to diagnose from a distance. You might have someone that is familiar with them look at it. Preferably someone with a Nissan Consult.

Presume, being experienced Infiniti technicans, they rehabilitated the engine before they installed it. Chain guides, knock sensors, under plenum hoses, new belts and pulleys, etc.? Of course the engine was inspected prior to purchase and compared to other candidates to ensure you chose the best one?

Fatal words, "Friend's Shop." Many an Infiniti has died in these places.

Many an Infiniti has died in German performance shops [also] need to speak Japanese or at least think in Japanese.........Beer and Sake don't mix.

They will have to bite the bullet and pay an Infiniti tech to look at it on the weekend.
