my AUXNISSv3 is coming in the mail today and the harman kardon drive+play unit will come probably friday. before i get started taking things apart, i need some instructions.

1. How do I take out the head unit so i can wire in the AUXNISS?im planning to put the aux unit inside the glove compartment as well as the drive+play "brain" along with the ipod connector.

2. As far as wiring goes, I have a general sense but I don't want to go the wrong direction. The manual for the auxniss is different from what it says here on the "4th gen wiring schematics" thread.

3. What wire gages are used for that kinda part? i think its 22 or something similar but i havent seen the cables in the back for myself. just need some verification so i can buy the t taps.

Here's what I need:1.+12 constant for auxniss2.+12 switched for auxniss3.+12vDC(assuming same as #1?) for driveplay4.ACC (assuming same as #2?) driveplay5.GND driveplay

Heres whats from that wiring thread here: im gonna assume that this one is correct, so t-tap both constants into the #6 slot and tap both switched into #10 and ground into #9?

the manual for the auxniss says something totally different:

and heres from the manual of the driveplay unit

aux manualhttp://www.discountcarstereo.com/pdf/auxniss.pdf

driveplayhttp://www.harmankardon.com/dr...l.pdfhttp://w ... dr...l.pdf

also, aside from the cig lighter below the headunit, is there any other hidden cig lighter plugs that im not aware of?

bump, can someone please give me some info on how to remove the head unit? i dont have the service manual.

also, depressing news, i received the auxnissv3 off ebay and it didnt come with the auxniss -> cd changer cable, doesnt do me any good. listing said its used, like new. gonna dispute with him.

i think ill temporarily wire it using the wired antenna modulator, it amazingly came with the driveplay when i bought it off ebay.

In order to remove the head unit, you have to first remove the A/C vents above the whole stereo panel in your dashboard. I just took a flat head screw driver and plied it off, it should come off with no problem. But before you can remove the whole thing, you have to remove the trim around your shifter knob, as well as the ash tray. Flathead screwdriver should work again. As for wiring and what not, i had a professional do it for me. sorry, hope this helps
