This is my first time replacing disc pad on ABS brake of I30 - 2000.I think my ABS valve are damage after the compressing the caliper to install new disc pads.

So now the ABS goes crazy on every braking. What is minimize the cost to repair this problem?

Can I just disable it by remove the fuse for now?

Thank you in advance.

You can pull the fuse for now as the braking system will still work. If your ABS light is on, you may have to take it in to the dealer and allow them to tell you what's wrong with the system as you'd just be throwing parts at it otherwise. Good luck and welcome!

Pushing the piston should not damage the ABS. Which brake pads did you replace? For the front, C-clamp is used to push the piston but for the rear, you need a brake piston adapter to TURN the piston in. Are you sure you did not 'touch' the ABS wheel sensor?

If you have a discount for ABS as part of your insurance, then it's not a good idea to disable it as you may have a problem with your provider in case of an accident.

The best way to identify the affected component is to use the Built-in Diagnostic. All you need is a jumper wire connected to Pin 8 of DLC (Data Link Connector)and chassis ground. Just follow the instructions on pages BR-48 and BR-49. Once you know the fault code, go to page BR-61 to identify the defective component and how to fix it. Refer to the link below. It's for the 2001 I30 but should also apply to your car.

I took out the ABS (2) relays but it does not help much so I put it back.I am going to do more diagnostic before touching the ABS.

Thank you all for responded.

Check the wheel speed sensor, connector and harness for damage, cut or loose connections on the wheels where you replaced the brake pads. The sensor is mounted on the inboard side of the of the rotor.

I tried another new pads and even change new fluid but still the same. Then replacing the rotor and the vibration went away.It does not make sense, because before the brake job every thing was smooth.I don't think install new pads would damage the rotors.Any way, I glad the vibration is disappear... and hope it's gone.

Just want to share this news so anyone run into this situation should try the rotor would cost less than anything else.

Great to be in this forum!

Turning the rotors instead of replacing them is a cheaper alternative (@ $20/rotor). It's always a good idea to flush the brake fluid as water tends to get absorbed into the fluid over time, reducing braking efficiency. Proper brake burnishing after pad/rotor replacement is required to ensure the rotor-pads are bedded-in. Nissan recommends multiple brake applications, 35 MPH to Zero. I personally do multiple high-speed braking, @ 60 MPH down to 10 MPH but NEVER A FULL STOP. A full stop from high-speed braking will create 'hot spots' on the rotors, eventually leading to warpage/vibration. Make sure high-speed braking can be done SAFELY, on an empty highway or rural road.
