Hi everyone, I am new to the forums. I was immediately hooked when I laid eyes on the A/C! After countless months, I have finally found an A/C that fits my preference: 2008, black, 3.5, manual. I am up in Canada, so it is very rare to see a 3.5 manual - well in my area that is. It has 112km, and is retailed at roughly 15g. I checked the carfax and it had been involved in an accident; right door was hit, it cost roughly $2000.

I suppose my question is how would one go about this? I am interested in cars, but I am definitely not as in tuned with car lingo as you all are. Any negotiating tips? Any advice as to how to lower the car's value? I can afford this car, but would like to get it as low as possible :rotfl

Any and all help is appreciated!
You all have a great day :)

One of the first things I would do is check the value on KBB and use that for negotiation. I'm not sure of all the options, etc the car you are looking at has but you can figure out the value of it by going to
http://www.kbb.com

Hope this helps

Welcome to NICO!

I would ensure there was no structural damage to the car - that the damage was only cosmetic. If there was subframe damage or anything of the sort, the car will never align properly and you'll just have more trouble down the road.

Other than that - a 3.5 manual is the best way to enjoy an Altima Coupe. Good luck!

Try checking http://www.autotrader.com. It's a U.S. web site but should still give you some idea about pricing.

My fellow canadians, this is for us : http://www.canadianblackbook.com/black-book-values

My 2009 3.5 leather auto would fetch about 16000 with 50 500 KM on board, that price you mentioned is ridiculous, considering you have to pay GST PST (likely) on top

GOOD Luck

My tip to you: Take it to a local mechanic... even though they got it professionally fixed, its always good to check for frame damage, rusting, etc. and a good mechanic should give you the green light. It may cost a hundred or two but it is definitely worth it in the long run. Also, dont tell him you were looking for a manual or anything specific, because that will make you seem desperate. Let me know how it goes... im also about to upgrade from a 2.5 to a 3.5 so hopefully i can join that new club with you haha

Hey DKDKDK,

Thanks for the suggestion.
I checked out the prices before heading over there. That tax is killer.

Hey Xenon, thanks for the welcome!

Yup, I checked the car. It was hit back rear right, about $2000 in damage. Other than the little things such as the flaps and such, it was okay.
But yeah, you're right. I test drove it, it was amazing haha.

Hey AED, thanks for the suggestion. That is how I found the car lol
But yeah, I will keep looking.

Hey DAAN, thanks for the website.
I will use it for sure.

Wow, that is a great deal, congrats. Yup, overall it came to around 17 grand...

Btw, that is a filthy alti in your sig lol, very nice.

Hey Mattyfich, yeah I did exactly what you said. He even looked at me weird, considering I was at a Nissan dealer and I asked for it to be inspected by a third party. There was a crazy amount of rust at the bottom that I noticed, he said he would overcoat it for me lol.
It was about 17G...112km..
I found another one and will be checking it out shortly. Same price, but half the km haha.

Goodluck to you too! Are you in the states?
I heard they are cheaper and easier to find down there.

PS, that is one absolutely disgusting alti in your sig lol.

Hey Green!
I'm new to the forums as well (Lurked for a while but just started posting)
I drive a 2009 2.5 Coupe CVT in Whitby. I'm not sure what's out there for clubs for us, but if you're interested, we should get a meet started :)

Hope you enjoy the A/C as much as I've been enjoying mine :D
