My wife drives a 2003 G35 Coupe. I started noticing oil spots in the driver so I jacked up the car and first thought it was the oil filter leaking so I re-tightened but no I notice oil is coming from behind were the oil filter is attached. Is that something that can be unscrewed after the oil filter is removed and replaced? Is that a common leak on G35? As you can c in the picture right behind the aluminum donut there is the leak.

I believe that is the adapter for the oil cooler- it should just screw onto the block similar to the oil filter- it may have a gasket that needs replaced- look in factory service manual for more detailed info and pictures.

That's great! It seems like this is becoming a common issue on the cars with the oil cooler setup.
