I have an MSD 6BTM connected to my car. This is on a E to DE swap engine as well. I have had this successfully running for about a month. But for the past week I've noticed that it was missing down low, around 2000 or so RPM's and when shifting, but anything above that it would be fine. Well the other day at a stop light it just died. There was no spark. Had it towed home, did some tests. At first I thought it may have been the MSD Box/Coil. Did some tests, had sparks come out successfully from the coil wire when the white trigger wire rubbed up against a ground. So the MSD isn't the issue. Found out that when the MSD is connected to the green/black and red/black coil wires and the car is cranked over, no spark. Somehow no signal is getting to the green/black coil wire. I even tried a stock coil and could not get any sparks. Used a voltmeter to test the crank angle sensor at the 0 and 180 degree volt marks - voltage fluctuated between 0 and 5 volts for both points like FSM said. Had someone turn over car while I had voltmeter connected to green/black and red/black wire - I was reading battery voltage?? So I'm not sure what the problem is. I could get the car running albeit horribly by just rubbing the white wire against a ground while someone turned over the car.

Hmm... I had the same problem when I was still running my DE with a 6A, Sometimes it would stall, sometimes it wouldn't start... once it died as I was driving to work it died on the highway. Got pissed and wiggled all the wires and it worked again. When I got home that day, I soldered everything and it never gave me any problems from that day on.

All my wires were soldered until I cut the male ends to do the testing. I mean, its as if the MSD box is not getting the signal from the green/black coil wire.

Bump for a non-running ride. =/ Any ideas?
