Did you find your problem? I am having the same problem with my 2007. I am trying to add a 7 pin connector and have used the Nissan brake controller harness as well as Nissan's 7 pin towing harness. One of the leads should have constant power, but it does not. I have checked all the fuses. I wonder if there is supposed to be another fuse or relay added.Just curious if this was the same problem as yours. Thanks

Are you saying that you have no power for turn signals, lights, etc., or are you saying that you just don't have power for the charging line. Your charging line should only be active when the ignition is on. I don't know how Nissan has it set up, but most pickups have a relay or fuse that must be added for that circuit to be active.

Thanks for the reply. I have no power to the charging line. I checked with the key on and with it running. It is the upper right terminal on teh 7 pin connector. On the cover, it says + Battery or something like that. It shoud be hot all the time to keep the trailer brake magnets active and ready for the signal from the brake controller. This morning, I have talked to two different dealerships about adding a fuse or relay (neither dealership is very close to me). Lee Auto said an additional piece is NOT needed. A dealership that is about an hour away said that a relay or fuse is needed. So I am not sure.I know the wire in the Trailer Harness I bought is good as I checked it with an ohm meter for continuity. I checked the fuse under the hood that I thought was the one for this circuit and it is also good.I have not tried it on a trailer yet. There may need to be a trailer hooked to it to trigger some relay to activate the power circuit, but I think I am over thinking. Surely it is not that complex.I am hoping it is not a harness problem.

Any other ideas???

You're right, it shouldn't be very complicated. I have a lot of experience towing and hauling with heavier pickups and when the vehicle comes pre-wired, it is typically a pretty simple deal. Have you checked the owner's manual? (I know, stupid question.) The next thing I would do is run it by a reputable RV dealership. You can also check out the forums on http://www.rv.net/forum/. It is an extremely active board and there are a lot of helpful folks. Try a search first and see what you find.

Lawless,Thanks for your help.Luckily I found some help with the electrical system and traced down the problem to a missing relay. In the engine room, there are 3 boxes on the passenger side. The biggest box is the main fuse box. The next one moving toward the battery is a relay box. It is long and skinny compared to the others, then there is a little one in front of those, closest to the battery. There was a brown 6-pin connector there with no relay. It needs a relay. It is the same relay as the Front Blower. The part number is 25230 7996A. The last 2 digits may not be a little different, like 63 or MA or etc. Basically it is the same as the relay needed for the Titan, so that should help the Dealer. It was $25.Plugged this in and worked fine. Used the trailer this weekend. Thanks again.
