The KS ground comes from being bolted to head. The cable from ecu to KS is shielded with NO shield connection continuity at the KS Connector.

=======___________>KSKSKS......center bolt is only ground

the brand i dont know but its aftermarket from ebay link is --

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

i tried to ohm them buy outting the ks on the negative side of battery and follow the procedure still didnt get a reading out of any of them old or new ks. checked my meter and its working fine cause i checked my injectors and they ohm fine.

yes key off my doors were open that shouldnt make a difference thou i hope.

i figured ks is grounded thru bolt to head thats why i put it back together to see if it makes a difference.i also check to see if the wiring was bad maybe a break inline some where but everything was fine.

p.s. when i started it up it sounded great and felt great for a test drive but i fear i messed up because i cant get a ohm from the ks even after a test drive. kids r off to school already for the morning and its my day off im going out there rite now and test again.

is there a possibility faulty ks? but would it still run? and both my old ks were cracked.

There was a former member that used those knock sensors (Unknown007) and he never had a chance to get the KS to work before he lost his car. Not to scare you or anything but I think that if you do a job where the labor is more than the part (If your not a DIYer) then your better off buying OEM stuff if you can.

Hope you can return them if there bad.

Check the ECU for any codes.

My old ones ohmed fine, but were cracked - so I knew it was just a matter of time and replaced them. The car will run ok with bad ones... but better with good ones.

I would go back with an OEM subharness and new OEM sensors.

As far as your throttle cables - there's no way that mis-adjusted cables would cause your car to idle low. The TB is fully shut at idle... There should be a little slack at idle with the car fully warmed up.

DO NOT mess with the screws on the throttle body!

Typically your idle should be higher after a plenum removal and cleaning... but if you need to adjust it you can do so with the set screw on the AAC valve.

I don't get why the car will idle better after the plenum has been cleaned. I understand there is a differnce when the throttle body, AAC/IACV and EGR is cleaned but why the pleunum and runners?

Is it becacuse the 1MM more room allows more air?

Original poster: Check the AAC/IACV in back of the plenum, If the screw was adjusted by a bad mechanic then turn it in all the way then turn out 2.5-3 turns till you get 650 RPM's. DON'T USE THE DASHBOARD TACH BECAUSE IT MAY BE OFF ~200 RPM'S.

Who did the labor?

need some help from the q45 guru's out there!

problems:

1- when i crank my engine to start froma cold start the rpms fly up to about 2000rpm usually it would stay there until it starts to warm up it it will drop down slowly the warmer it gets but now when i start up it jumps to 2000rpm and drop down immediatly to about 600-700rpm on a cold engine and stays there until it warms and they falls to 500rpm. any suggestions?

2-when i started up tonite someting even crazier happened. i left to get warm rite i know i put $15 in gas (93oc) rite bout 1/4 tank. when get in the car and get ready to drive off just b4 i put in reverse my eye caught the gas gauge and i was on empty.in my head i started bugging out sayon maybe i didnt put gas this morning. so i said ill go to the gas station. when i started driving i literally saw my gas gauge move back up to 1/4 tank from empty. i really went crazy and puzzled. i know i dont have a bad gas pump i tested and it tested fine. any suggestions?

Can you take a video of this?

My guess is some how the fast idle can has been screwed with.

I would check the Fuel Pump Control Unit (FPCU) and sending unit (That the fuel pump is caged in.

Did you clean the intake* when you did the knock sensors?

*Thottle body, AAC/IACV, Plenum, Runners and EGR?

Did you set the Thottle cables according to the service manual:http://Nicoclub.com/FSMhttp://docs.goog ... oc...hl=en

Did you miss a air hose (Vacuum or secondary air (IACV/AAC))?

Email me and I will give you my number if you want.

WHAT THE F*CK! WHAT THE F*CK! IM BUGGING RIGHT NOW!

so i woke up this morning went out side started the q45 up to get warmed up while i shower. when i got dressed and ready to go to work i was walking towards the car i hear like spinning grinding sound from under the car. when i went under to listening where its comin from it seems like the transmission. i had my wife put her foot on the gas and the sound got louder when she revs it. i got in and out it in drive it goes into drive 3,2,1 and reverse and the car moves in all gears so i said im not goin to drive it to work. when i get back home i started up again check transmission fluid all good. but when i jump in after warming and put in gear the car doesnt move. dont move in reverse or 1,2,3. when i shift from park to reverse or drive its like nothing happens. when u have ur foot on brakes and shift in gear its like nothing engages at all. i can sit there and rev in drive and dont move an inch literally. but that sound is still there, a spinning grinding sound. the car never slipped gears always shift on point i change filter and fluid every summer after storage.

please i need some help with this i hope its not a bad transmission! i never seen any signs of bad transmission! the car never slipped in any gears even under pressure!

im not mad at the q cuz i have her for 6yrs now and only work i did was dual exhaust and radiator and altenator cuz of system. always maintained her oil change plugs etc. recently found out bout transmission oil mobil 1 is best so i did that after new filter.
