HELP! No idle, revs fall to nothing on start!

Not sure where to put this, but I figured you guys would know. Basically, I put in my Injen CAI and everything seems fine. I tried to start her up and she starts, but then just falls to nothing and makes a plunger-like sound. To me it sounds like she's not getting enough air, but I can't think of any blockage and so far we don't see any. Do I need to trim the fender lining in that area or something? TIA!edit: This is a 2001 Sentra SE 2.0 w/ performance package.

We just tried it without the secondary pipe and filter, same thing happens.

this may sound stupid buuut is the air flow meter in the right direction?

My friend who put in the MAF just stated that he will kill himself promptly for putting the fvckin thing on backwards. Now she sounds like a monster. Sorta a race car on crack, sweet, especially WOT.
