Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I just purchased a 95 Q45 on Saturday and it has no heat. It only blows cold air even when you turn it to 85. The temp gauge doesnt work either. I'm pretty mechanically inclined an pretty knowledgeable when it comes to cars but I haven't gotten a chance to really look her over and or diagnose the problem yet. Was just wondering if maybe someone has went through the same or maybe has some insight as to what may be wrong. I know that the coolant temp sensor is the most likely cause of the non working temp gauge but I didn't know if maybe it had some affect on the climate control being that its digital. I also know that when a thermostat goes bad it freezes open n makes it take forever for the car to warm up but even after about 30-40min of stop and go driving in inner city Philly during rush hr the heat still blows ice cold. The only other possible cause I can think of off the top of my head would be a clogged heater core but I'm praying its not that. Any help or thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

:welcome: to NICO!

There are two temperature sensors on your car, one for the ECU and one for the dash. Either way, I'd check them with the instructions in your car's factory service manual.

As far as not having heat - I would also be surprised to not notice any heat at all after driving for a while in stop and go traffic. Nissan uses a mix door that opens the airflow across the heater core - the core itself is always getting coolant flow - so I would also run the climate controller self check in the service manual.

Good luck!
