i need help every time i turn on my lights or hit the break lights the fuses on those circuits blow. im assuming that there is a short to ground somewhere where the two circuits are connected, but i cant find a wiring diagram anywhere.. for free at-least. does any body have one or has anyone experienced this or know where i should start looking. the other thing that happened in the last few days is the back light on the gauge cluster doesn't work if any one knows where this problem would be or knows where i can find a good diagram pllzz help

I know the answer its easy. Just don't turn on your lights or brake.

But I hope you can find the the problem.

It's a PITA to find free online wiring diagrams sometimes.

I'll search around and see what I come up with.

EDIT: I just noticed it's for an s13. Pretty sure there is a wiring diagram somewhere on NICO. Have you tried the search button?

Have you tried looking at the FSM?They are available for download through NICO, for free. The link is in my sig. Have you checked all your other fuses as well? You also might want to check your bulb sockets for any type of corrosion.

I'll merge this thread with the one in the 240 section.

I clicked this thread expecting to be able to come in here and say "brake switch!" but alas, I cannot.

What I can tell you is that most likely you have a bare wire grounding itself (like you said). What you need to do now is start tracing wires. Most likely you'll either have to do it or pay someone to. Hope you have a good multimeter and/or test light!

so i think i figured it out... think would be the key word luckily i did get it fixed. i spent a good amount of time tracing the harness looking for any areas that were worn or corroded, witch by the way ended up being a lot easier than i had expected to get the interior out of the way. but what i had found is the loom is located in the wheel well on the driver side. my tiers rubbed a medium sided hole in the plastic guard, and it was raining when the problem started, i took out the guard to prevent more rubbing (im sure a lot of you know how annoying that can be) and moved that part of the loom up on the side of the frame under the fender where hopefully it will be safe. im pretty sure that the problem was that the wires were getting soaked and shorting the system, tho i could have just gotten lucky and "disconnected" the unwanted short while relocating the harness. thx guys for the ideas! and that diagram.
