Hi, you may or may not remember that I had gotten my car flooded during the hurricane.

I was able to salvage the ecu and got a new battery to start the car. It took a little while but the car started and doesn't seem to be hurting at all.

At first the idle was kindda high (mid 900's) but it started to settle a little.

The problem is that the car would shut off if it sat idle for a handful of seconds without giving it gas. Sometimes the car would sit idle just fine (when the revs started to drop to like 700's), but I don't know if I should be concerned with turning it on again, or worse yet, driving it.

Thanks in advance!

Your post is a little confusing. You state the idel problem like you have started it numorus times yet your last statement indicates you are affraid to restart it? As if you only started it once.

Check pickup maybe, does it just shut off like you turned the key, or does it slow down and then die?

I've started it several times. I don't know if I should be or not. Actually I drove the car to the shop that's going to redo my interior and it drove fine.

The car is exceptionaly loud now though. I popped the hood and I think the noise is coming from the pulleys/belts.

The car would idle fine this time around (put in a new battery), but like I said, it was pretty noisy (out of the usual)

well You need to eliminate the noise around the belt area. Start by removing all your belts and start it up. Is the noise still present. Dont let it run more then a few mins or it will over heat. This is just to eliminate all the other moving components to determine if it is internal engine or accesories. if the noise is gone shut it down and instal one belt then fire it back up. see if the noise comes back. If so that component is likely your cause. Do this one at a time with the rest of the belts.
