I just bought the QX56 after owning an Armada for 11 years.
  • 1. Do the doors automatically lock when I exit the vehicle and go inside or do I need to hit the button to lock?
    2. Is the CD/DVD Player make a clicking sound when the disc spins up normal? Seems kinda loud.
    3. Do I have a MusicBox? I have the package with the 2 screens in the backseat to watch movies on?
    4. Blind Spot Warning isn't a standard feature? I didn't see it on mine, sadly.
I bought this used from a Toyota dealer so I got basically no info on how to use things.

Thanks in advance....

Thanks, I figured out how to lock and unlock the car using the little button on the handle. Got it.
The CD player noise is subtle. I might be a bit sensative.
I can't seem to get the music box to show up. Hmmmm.
Thanks a lot....

When you put a CD in, there should be a "Record" button on the bottom of the screen. Hit that and the entire CD will be transferred to your Music Box.

I don't think you can access MusicBox without there being some content on it already.... I think I was looking for it for a while the first time too. Think of it as a convenience feature... if you have nothing stored there, why make you have to cycle through that Source?

Also, the USB in the storage compartment behind the gear shifter is very useful for MP3s, MP4, DIVX, etc. For videos, you have to tinker with the codec a bit to make them play...

I also use an HDMI to RCA converter to output several things like iPad, AppleTV, etc to the screens so I have a massive movie collection for the kids. I can also use Slingbox to play live Football games, etc.

I am actually trading my 2012 in tomorrow for a 2015. I have tested every vehicle (to exhaustion) and I keep coming back to the QX. My only complaint is that the Tech could use a refreshing... but that's it!

you can access the music box even if there are no files on it.
