I have an issue with the airbag lights after installing an aftermarket radio.
The airbag light on the console blinks and the light on the passenger side stays on.

I tried the airbag reset but the lights come back on after some driving. So I decided to go to the dealership. They did a diagnosis and said that because of my aftermarket radio, the wire connections are wrong, they can't fix it. (I knew I shouldn't get my hopes up)

I double checked all the wire connections and everything seems to be correct. I have come to the conclusion that there may be something loose but can't figure out what.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ugh, that's a tough one.

A stereo installation shouldn't have affected your airbag mechanism or wiring. However, may have cycled the key while the passenger airbag indicator light was disconnected. This would set a error code in the SRS system.

Two options: get a scan tool and erase it yourself, or have the dealership do it (assuming it's a history code, which is likely). The dealership shouldn't charge for it - I'm guessing you got a "slow" tech when you went in before. :)

You can also clear a history code by disconnecting both battery cables, and touching them together for a full minute. Hook them back up, connecting positive FIRST.

If it's a current code you may have damaged something by accident during install, but I'll bet it's just a history code.

I'll try clearing the history code with the battery cables. I'll post the results.

My 2009 Nissan altima has the passeger airbag off light. Also the airbag light on the closter. error B1018.

Checked all the plugs on the seat and everything looks 100%. When trying to clear the code, it blinks and comes right back.. Any idea how to fix or bypass?
