Hi tenderr!

Welcome to NICOclub and 240sxconvertible.com. Glad you found us here.

I've not ever done this myself, so I'm speaking from heresay. I understand that you can simply replace the window itself. Nissan refers to it as a "backlight" in the FSM supplement.

Basically it's just a clear flexible plastic. You can most likely save yourself some money and check out some high quality marine plastics.

I believe some hot glue and staples are the tools to reinstall.

I'll check on it for you and get back.

Has anyone else done this. Looking for more input please! Especially first hand! Anyone want to do a write-up on it in the form of a How-To article>!!

Thanks gang.

i had mine replaced and installed for $100. just take it to a shop that does that kind of work (body shop or reuhpolsterer(sp)) and have them give you a quote. even if it costs $300 i'd say it's worth the money. it makes a HUGE difference having a perfect rear window!

yup, just the window.

not sure why it was so cheap. i never priced windows alone. i think he just cut it out of stuff he all ready had and just stitched it it. i'm not excactly sure how it works back there because that's not my forte` (i'm more of a mechanical guy) so i never looked at it. but take it in and get a quote. like i said, even if it's $300 it's worth it. leave stuff like that to the professionals because you don't want to screw that up.

Shop I brought mine to quoted me $300, but that was for the window and the cloth that goes around it, referred to as the "curtain piece" i believe.
