So i finally got around to installing the turbo and mani and intercooler and of course Murphy's Law had to be right beside us during the install. Nonetheless, i had a fitting which accepted my factory oil pressure sender switch and had two other NPT holes. One of those holes was for my turbo oil feed line, the other for my mechanical oil pressure gauge. Now i had hooked up the turbo oil feed line and everything was nice and done. When it came time to turning back the fitting so that the oil filter could be replaced back on, the fitting broke! Now it made a clean cut and this is a vital part to the engine whether NA or turbo. So the car wont drive for a while till i get this piece out. I have another fitting on its way but anybody ever removed something like this? I think ima need an "Easy Out" set but does anyone know the procedure? Any thoughts/questions/suggestions/opinions are welcome.

Please help me!

How much room do you have to work with?

First, Center punch it right in the center. Try using a reversible drill and left hand drill bit. Start with the smallest bit, and work up. I've been very lucky in the past, and when the bit caught, it spun the broken bolt right out. Otherwise, drill until you can get an easy out in there. Sometimes you have to keep drilling until you make the walls very thin, then you can try collapsing it to get it out.

Good Luck!

EDIT: I just read it more closely, you broke a fitting in there, so it's hollow on the inside? You might get lucky and be able to just use an easy out. all you do is jam it in there and twist it out. The only problem with some of those screw extractors is that as you turn it, it forces its way in more and spreads the bolt/fitting/etc., actually making it harder to remove. If you didn't use loctite or anything, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Use an easy out...thats the best way. Simply insert the easy out and tap it gently with a hammer. Then back it out. I have done this with everything from bolts holding gearboxes on a Helicopter to my own Skyline headbolts.

The fitting should be brass so it won't be hard.

In fact you may be able to use a screw driver, if you can tap the screwdriver into the fitting enough to get some grip.
