Help Needed! 1999 Infiniti I30 stall problem. I need your help for my father in law in Guadalajara, Mx. He starting having this stalling problem the last 10 months. He does not drive alot maybe once a day. His car stalls about 2-3 times a month...its intermittent. Yesterday he went to the mechanic to have have some sensors cleaned (mass air flow sensor, 02 sensor, acceleration sensor) to try to get rid of this problem. When he drove home it stalled again just like beofre while after he accelerated from a stop. He then started it up and it hestitated as he accelerated for about 5 seconds or so. He took back to same mechanic today and they ran a test on all the sensors and eveything was functioning normally. Has anyone run across this intermittent stalling problem that does not show up on any diagnostic tests? Your input and advice is welcome.

Mike in San Diego, CA

The fuel filter may be dirty. Have they checked the fuel pressure downstream of the fuel filter (@ 38 psi with engine running; 43 psi with egnine off, Ignition ON, 5 seconds limit). A failing MAF sensor may not necessarily throw a fault code. Check intake/exhaust for leak.

Check to see if the EGR valve is functioning.

I checked the fuel pressure in my 95 Maxima the other day
Auto Zone has a good kit (Actron) to check fuel pressure

Check idle air control valve

If these dont work you might have to start with the following;
1) Make sure you get a good spark at the coil
2) Check and make sure alternator is putting out correctly

I literally thought my transmission was going out until I replaced the coil packs and
replaced some fuel injectors
