Need some help guys!!
Here's a little background on the issues I have been dealing with with my 2003 G35s w/ 97k miles:

Car had died a few times before the "service engine soon" light came on. Had it jumped, and would die within a few mins after jump (both with engine on and off). Had battery/alternator checked out and both were fine. The car continued to die on me randomly for 2 weeks, and finally the "service engine soon" light illuminated. The connector to one of the terminals was loose, so I cleaned both terminals and re-connected the wires and made sure they were on tight. Haven't had any more issues with it dying on me since (been about 3 weeks now).

I decided to have a shop do a diagnostic to check why the "service engine soon" light was on and they said the code was P0037 H0252 Bank 1 Heater. The mechanic told me that I need to replace Bank 1 rear and Bank 2 rear sensors immediately. His quote for this repair was $325 each ($650 total)!!

Anyway, I was wondering if you all think that the sensors are actually shot and need to be replaced or if there may be some correlation with what was happening when the car routinely died on me. Also, I am curious as to how difficult it is to replace the sensors on my own. Any help is much appreciated!!!!

O2 sensors go out, not uncommon. You can purchase them online for much cheaper and take them to a muffler shop for installation. That should save you a bunch.

FWIW you can always take the vehicle to a AutoZone style parts place and have codes checked for free, assuming SES is on.

Thanks. I replaced the 02 sensors, then clear the codes by unplugging the battery for like 30 min (since i dont have a code reader) and then drove it around a little. The light came back on shortly after. I took it back to the mechanic and told him my issue and he told me "g35 must have Infiniti brand o2 sensors, aftermarket ones don't work." Is this true?? I had purchased NTK brand sensors from Napa and was told by them that they'd work, but they obviously don't. Is there anything else that could be causing this code to come on?

I don't believe the brand of the O2's matter but I have seen some issues with others complaining about codes after buying non-specific O2's. I'll have to punt to someone else for confirmation as I honestly have never had one replaced other than Infiniti doing one under warranty when they swapped in my HFC's and broke one.

What was the difference in cost between Infiniti O2 sensors from the Infiniti parts department and the ones you bought?

I haven't had time to check the Infiniti brand sensors yet, gonna look into that this weekend. The NTK sensors I bought were around $120 each ($260 for both, incl. tax). I was originally quoted at $325 each ($650 total) to have the shop replace them, hence the reason I wanted to replace them myself.

I found this

http://infinitipartscenter.net/parts/20 ... mCallOut=5

It looks like there are a total of four of them. Two front left and right and two more in the rear left and right.

The difference in price is about $30 each between the OEM Infiniti ones and the ones you got.
If it were me I would have obtained the Infiniti OEM ones as its just not worth the hassle that you are going thru.
Just my $.02

could there be possibly a diff. reason for that code to appear? maybe the sensors weren't bad, but some other issue...

Usually it is the O2 sensor but there could be other issues like the wiring harness

Page EC-162 starts going over the error. Unfortunately most of the checks are using Consult II
