I went for a 3 hour drive to a drift event yesterday, and on the way up 2 of my studs coming from the manifold to the turbo snapped in half! Today I pulled out the turbo and manifold and in the process of separating the manifold from the turbo for further inspection, 1 more stud snapped leaving me with only one intact.

Any trick to getting snapped studs out? They're pretty corroded and I prefer not to drill them out. Please help.

Pb blaster does wonders if they are siezed in there. Also if you have enough stud, use a vice grip. But if its broken with nothing sticking out, you will have to drill it out. Not many choices.

Oxy-cetelene torch, bee's wax, vice grips, and a careful hand.

if theres anything sticking out have someone weld a nut to the broken studs, then spray wd-40 or your perferd penitrant. let it soak and spray it a few more times letting it soak. then work the stud out loosing and tightning untill its out. dont just try to unthread them because they might seize and break off more.

Soak them down a few times a day for a few days then use a 1/4" LEFT hand drill bit. Drill VERY slowly with a lot of pressure (dont put an angle on the bit or it will snap) and the bit will grab the stud and rip it right out of there. This technique works on everything including stainless and titanium.

PS WD-40 is horse urine compared to PB "Blaster"
