Though I really like my Michelin Pilot Sport tires (OEM), I refuse to pay another $800 for another rear set for my '04 Coupe. They just don't last. Any recommendations for another, even slightly cheaper, tire? Any and all help appreciated. Thanks!

you can search for tires based on numerous criteria. chances are there will be several consumer reviews and informative product information for each tire you are interested in.

If price is your concern, check out the Avon Tech M500 at Tire Rack. They are probably not as good as the Michelin Pilot Sport, but the price is much lower.

I can't complain about the Kumho Escta SPT's. Helluva price compared to other tires in its class.

Bobaloo, a mechanic told me there is no cure. No matter how much or little you spend on 'em, they're going to wear out FAST. Infiniti knows it's a problem, but doesn't care. Got about 10K out of my last rears. I think I'm selling it.

Hmmmm ... if you rotate and balance the tires regularly, etc., with most of the typical street tires that you can get for the car, you should be able to get somewhere between 15k to 20k (or even a bit more) out of the tires.

I have an M45, with more weight and similar horsepower, and I get about 19k to 22k out of a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. And, these are not exactly long-wearing tires either!

I'm very happy with my Toyo's...much less expensive than Goodyear F1's.

when buying tires i always look for the (tread wear) wriiten on the side walls of the tires...mostly low profiles have either 230-370 tread wear, the higher the number the longer the it last...but ofcourse you want some good tires that will have grip on the road all the time, i would say get the best tire that you think, coz tires are your life too, crappy tires could endanger your life specially we have sport cars.. so i recomend always gget the Z rated tires and also with the higher tread wear...just my recomendation...

Hey, which YOKOs do you roll on? I'm looking at the Avid's for my wife's sedan. Mainly a DD tire that's got a little performance. Don';t want to pay mega-bucks & don't want a summer only tire. She currently has the goodyea RS-A, which i've been pleased with, but don't think they are worth the money for the mileage.

logicmobile,One other thing about the tread wear number on the tire. That is only good for comparing tires within a brand. The numbering various across brands.
