Help! Need seat belt fix... (for baby seat)

Ack!

So, I just realized that I have a severe problem... I just bought my Z, and told my wife I'd be able to put a baby's car seat in the front, and my teenager in the back (he can contort.. heh)

Then I realized the seat belt is on the door... Some quick research shows that there may be a kit to add an additional floor mounted seat belt for the passenger seat!

Is this true? Where can I get one? Does anyone have one they can part with for some ca$h?

If I can't put a baby seat in either the front OR the back, my wife will make me get rid of her(the car, not the baby)! Nooooo!!!!!!

You bought it one year off. The 94 and up had the belts on the pillars.

You may be able to do it like old school guys do on cars that didn't come with belts from the factory and mount it directly to the floor, cause there's no bolt holes to mount it to the pillar like it came from the factory in the 94+ models.

i know this isnt the answer you want to here but the solution is a 2+2.. Its girlfriend/wife friendly. 2+0 isnt going to work. I know this is wrong for me to say and I'm sorry but generally speaking don't listen to womens advice. Especially when it comes to cars.



Its illegal in my state to put a car seat in the front seat. I dont know what the law is in your state but if you got cought with a child seat in the front and a kid in the back of a 2+0 they would take your kids from you and throw y ou in jail where I live. So maybe not best idea I think that is the law in every state bro..


my 2+2 came with the book theres a page in the book with instructions on how to rig a car seat up in the back seat.. apparently you stick a tether strap trough the seat and there is a place in the trunk it can hook to. the rear seats do have pilar mounts. just becasue you are a fellow z guy and i dont want ur woman to make u get rid of it ill scan the book section for you. here I took a pic for you

Mine IS a 2+2! I just didn't think I could fit a car seat back there...

I will evaluate the possibility of mounting one of my many car seats in the back. If I can fit at lwast one, my worries will be rested. My wife just insists on keeping the babies in rear-facing seats LONGER than the state requires... Sigh...

it should fit. maybe not a huge one. ya I think the only time you can put a safety seat in the front seat is when the vehicle has no back seat. so in your case ya since you have a back seat you have to put it there.

There's a free copy of the owner's manual on Nissan's manual hosting site. There's a page in there with info on the part number for the strap (if it's even available, I doubt it is though) if your wife insists on keeping the car seat in the front.

I don't think you're legally allowed to have a child's car seat in the front seat in most states now.

Even if you can legally put a child's seat in the front seat don't do it.

Then put it in the rear seat. There is probably things you can buy that allow you to adapt the rear seat to properly mount a baby seat.
