i currently have 185/65/15 falkens on my stock steelies and im trying to look for some 15" rims

would 15x6.5 rims be a good fit for my tires? or would i need to get another size of tires? because these tires are only a couple months old

just check the size of your stock rims and get the same size of rim.

185/65/R15 can go onto a 6.5 rim, it will be a slight stretch... i think the ideal size would be 205, correct me if i am wrong....

A 6.5" wide wheel is the widest you can go if you wanna keep using the 185 tires. They will work just fine until they wear out. When it comes time for replacement, a 205/60/15 tire would fit very nicely.

just remember wider tires means more gas burnt

I'm sure him getting aftermarket wheels to replace the heavy steel wheels would make up for the gas used. In my experience, gas mileage won't change that much. My fiance had a Cavalier that I changed from a 195/70/15 to a 205/60/15 setup and the mileage didn't change. Same seems to be true with her CR-V she has now that I changed from 205/70/15 to 215/60/16. Going for a sticky performance tire is what will suck gas or going stupid wide (like 225-245). A good 205/60 touring type tire on a 6.5" wide wheel would give good ride comfort along with a little better handling. The tire won't look as much like a "balloon"
