It's an extremely long story, but it involves a patch of ice and me in a rent car for about a month.

Anyhow, I've been able to strike a dealer with the body shop on replacing my suspension with aftermarket springs if I can get them in time. What I'm looking for is recommendations on springs (and possibly sources). I'm not really looking to go crazy, just reduce the stock wheel gap. I'm looking to retain the stock shocks as well. At some point, I'll be moving from the stock 18's to 19's, but do not want to get into camber kits or tire wear issues, so I'm looking for a 3/4"-1" drop with a ride as close to stock as possible (TX roads suck). Any quick help anyone can give me would be great, as I don't have the time to search.

Last I checked, the Tein H-Techs or Tanabe Sustec NF210's seemed to fit the bill, but I also thought I saw something about stock 350Z springs. Don't know if they work with my MY or not. TIA for your help. I'll post in the Suspension forum as well.

I don't believe the aftermarket spring rate and the stock dampening rate are compatible. If you combine the two, it's just asking for the stock shocks to wear out prematurely.

There's another moderator who should be on his way shortly to give you more insight into this situation.

disregard anything about the 350z suspension. apparently the z suspension doesn't drop the front of the 2nd gen sedan. There aren't any specific lowering springs for the x. Most will go with the H&R springs for the RWD sedan. The drop is about 1.5". You will prematurely wear out the shocks though. You may go through shocks every 20-30k miles, your call though. The x model for both generations didn't really get any love, so folks had to improvise. with a 1.5" drop though, I would be concerned about having to get camber correction kits or there could possible be some tire wear. rule of thumb on the lowering springs, add about an additional 1/2 drop to whatever it will drop the RWD sedan. there are impul springs that drop the car about a inch in the front and 1/8 in the rear. http://www.japanparts.com, but they aren't cheap, about 430 dollars plus a couple weeks wait.
