i have been searching and posting want adds on different forum even one guy say he had some but the parts so i bought them and they ended up not even being for an sr20.

what i need is the valve spring seatsImage my machinist lost three of mine. gave me these shims saying they would work. it was his way of getting out of it. so now i am trying to find either 3 if they are all .98 .99 mm thick

i all ready know super tech and ferra make some but they are specific to their own springs i have BC springs. i can order them right from nissan but to order then is 24 dollars a piece

i am leaving to Alaska in ten days. for three months and these seats are the only things i need to have the motor together before i leave. if the machine shop had done his job in time i would have had this together back during new years.

What is wrong with the ones from the machine shop?
If you know the specs, that looks like a damn easy part to make...

i know i have thought about seeing if i could get some made on our lath at the place i work. this things he gave me. were 1.5 mm thick and were to big. that gives a different pre load to each spring. which isnt good for performance.

dude i am so sick of dealing with this machine shop. i have for the most part all my parts back. and will never have him do anything again. 8 months on a valve job is stupid.

You cannot rush perfection.

That is what you get for ordering the 132 angle valve job tbh.

I dont know anything about the specific part, and am really not an engine guy.... But I can only imagine that as long as you get the right material you may just wanna find a better machine shop to do it. If you can get on a lathe, that may be even better... Not sure how critical surface finishes are or if the part needs a smooth surface, but at least dimension wise you would likely be better off doing it on your own. I may not always be able to put a perfect finish on things, but I can machine with in the tolerances of my measurements with out too much wasted time, where as if I have to spec some +/- .005 the guy is going to stop as soon as he can.

the thing that sucks is our lead machinist for the place i work got a new job back east. i am almost thinking about picking up another head. taking its seats. then building that some time. but that would cost more then just buying them from nissan which is what i am trying to not do lol

It looks like you machinist also had diarrhea and used your head as the toilet.

Have you tried any parts stores, fwd sr20s should use the same part.

yeah actually i might be wrong on the FWD sr20. i was thinking because they use roller rockers that the spring might be different. well maybe i will go to the nissan dealership today and see what i can find out.

And the alum block, and the fragile valvetrain, and the CAS issues, and the oil starvation, and the stirring the pot :gapteeth:

i will take a whole set. that is what i supposably bought. but they weren't right. and the guy at nissan said the code didnt work but that the nissan codes all dont nessiarily mean the same thing.

the guy does really good work. he is just pre occupied building 1400hp v8s to care about a 4 cylinder head

and for the recored my sr is a 2.2 liter. perfect spot between displacement, reliability, while maintaining revs

Your machine shop should buy you new, OEM Nissan seats. If they have to get a whole set then they have to. They lost them, that's the only right thing to do.

I seriously think the supertech spring seats will work just fine. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me and tell me why... JWT tells people you can't use their C series cams without using their valve springs. Odd how podj is running C4 cams with BC springs and has been for a while.

yeah its probably just a sales pitch. to get you to use there springs too. the only thing that was throwing me off is it looks like the one from super tech has a lip around it. and i am not sure if the super tech spring is narrower then stock maybe. and that why the lip. ??
