I need a picture of the engine compartment of the 02 and up engine bay. Particularly the battery cover on and most importantly off. The part in question is the mounting for the press in clips that hold the cover on. I'm missing one and i need to know where it mounts so i can replace it or fabricate it. Much thanks.

Cmon someone must have 5 minutes to go outside and pop off their battery cover and take 1 pic of the immediate area around the battery so i can see whast the cover mounts to. Can someone help a fellow board member out? I would do it for you guys.

Look at 02's on ebay.

Many dealers take significant pains to supply bidders with crisp, clear foto's of their cars. I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a suitable pic there. A picture of my 99 which has NO cover would be of no use to you. I plan on fabricating something to cover mine, as the thought of stray electrons and arcs under the hood of this electric car gives me the willies.

If I had an F50 I would.

Hopefully someone will come along who can help soon.

Cablemn,

That looks like a standard type of Nissan plastic anchor with plastic push-in screw that Nissan/Infiniti have used forever. I buy a bag of them from the Nissan dealer every couple of years, because they don't last more than a few removal/install cycles. As to your question, if you lay the cover in place you should see a 3-6mm hole in the metal below the cover that lines up with the one in the cover. Push the anchor in and then push the screw into the anchor.

Right...that piece is missing. I need to see what the piece is and where it attaches to the inside fender or whatever, so i can either fabricate something or replace it from infiniti parts.

That piece comes as a 2- piece unit from Nissan. Sometimes if somebody has trouble unscrewing the plastic screw they'll try to pry it out which breaks the anchor leaving part of it in the hole. It may not look like anything lines up correctly if that's the case. They do come in a couple of different sizes, but they're usually in stock so you could probably take one outside to your car to check the size.

You know, those fasteners are probably all over your car. Have a look at how your trunk liner and various trunk panels are attached. You may find the exact piece in there to borrow. First you unscrew the plastic phillips head all the way out of the anchor. Then just pull or pop out the anchor.

most auto parts stores{poop boys, auto zone, advanced} have an area with tons of different fastners in little packs of 10-20.

The packages are marked by which manufacturer they fit...plenty of Nissan cheap plastic clips, and other style fastners were there on the shelf-including the one you need!

The F50 uses different plastic clips than the G-50, not sure about Y33. No Phillips (or other) center screws in the clips on F-50. Don't ask me how they come out (without breaking them), I haven't figured it out yet.

Holy sh@t!!!!I'm telling you guys, its not the clip or fastener!!! Its what the clip or fastener would fit into. There is nothing underneath the battery cover to support a fastener. Its missing. Ibought a whole frickin bag of fasteners from Infiniti. All I want is one measily picture of what is underneath the frickin battery frickin cover!!!! Is that too much to ask??? GeezIf I were to see another F50 on the road i would stop the guy and ask to see it but these cars are pretty damn rare. I've asked infiniti but they couldnt find a picture of the damn part in their computer. So i respectfully ask yet again. Is there anyone out there with an F50 that would please just humor me and take a picture of the area beneath, under, and below the frickin battery cover? PLEASE
