Hi all,

Around May I purchased some new rims and it came with Lexani LX-Six tires (255-35-20). Everything was fine at first however after about 5000 miles on them they are horrendously loud. I can't hear a thing. I am just going to break down and buy a new set I guess, but I wanted to see if you had any recommendations for me on a tire that is this size and quiet.

From looking around the forums people seem to be high on these Continental DWS tires, but I did see a review or 2 with someone saying that it is noisy. Any help that you all could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a good one!

those are comparable to the Nexens that come with all the wheel and tire packages.. they are non-expensive tires and lets just say you get what you pay for.

They're made in a nexen factory then they slap on the lexani name. I will never buy another set of tires from them. I'm have the same issue. I recommend falken fk-452 tires.

Like Vredestein & Hankook V12's

I have used both and never had a problem with them.

I have the Hankook EVO V12 tires as well. Great tires - definitely better than the OEM Goodyear RSA's I had. However, from what I've been reading, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport looks to be quite the performer - this will be my next set.

+1 again for the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO K110 tires.

Stupid long name on them though.

Hmm...a lot for the Hankook tires I see. I didn't even consider those.

The only problem I see with the V12 is they don't make a 235/35/20 which is the size to match with the 275/30/20 tire.

The 245/35/20 is matched with a 285/30/20

I think Vredestein doesn't make a 235/35/20 too

235 is a bit small isnt it? I thought 245/35/xx was stock for our width rims?

It all depends what rear tire you go for. It's best to match the size as best as possible.

Some members are using 225/35/20 for the front.

I'm running 245/35 in the front with 275/30 in the rear. The fronts are slightly bigger in diameter by maybe .1 but you can't tell. I am running Continental DWS but I don't drive the M enough to know if it's any good. I only put on 2k miles a year right now :gapteeth:

I can see the difference

245/35 = Overall Diameter: 26.75 in 679.45 mm
275/30 = Overall Diameter: 26.49 in 672.84 mm

difference is .26 in

I ran this size on my M with the WORK wheels..20"x9" 20"x10" 245/35/20"front 275/30/20" rear! They were great for me! :gotme

I ran 235/35/20" front and 265/35/20" rear on my M with the Vossen 20"x9" 20"x10.5"and didn't like the stretch on the front...if Mounted on 20"x9" I would go 245/35/20 if I would do it all over again!!

If you have to match them up, run 245/35/20" and 285/30/20" :bigthumb:

If you can see a 1/4" difference in tire size when looking at a car you are either superman or it is probably the suspension leaning more one way

Has anyone tried Michelins on a 20 inch rim with good results?

I recently placed the Michelin pilot super sports on my m37-255/40R20. I have about 1000 miles they and are fantastic. Best tires I have ever had. Just came from the continental dw and these blew them away. They stick and corner on rails. Most impressive is their comfort. Ride is significantly improved form the dw and road noise is pretty much gone. It has transformed the car! The tires are very expensive but will worth it.

Yeah, I can vouch for these tires, very very good at doing their job; and also very dang expensive. But if anyone wants them in some of these popular sizes mentioned above, I don't think they'll have any luck. I looked for a set to go with my Work wheels and they didn't have anything in that size.

Well I learned a little something new about tires and my situation. I went back to the shpe where I bought the wheel and tire package and one of the guys there was swearing that his tires did the same thing. So he suggested that I get an alignment because the tires in the front were feathered and rotate the front ones to the back. I went and did that so now I am going to see what happens. Apparently, I would have to drive on it for a bit so I will see if that helps.

Has anyone had this happen to them?
