Hey Guys, My 97 240 driver window motor stopped working and won't go back up. I managed to get the window back up by detaching the regulator (hopefully it ain't broke) and hold the window in place with some styrofoam for the time being so I'm not freezing nor does water get in the car when it rains. Would anyone know where I can get a good one or two? Thanks for your help.

Are you sure the problem it's the motor? I would test it first before buying another If I were you.

s13 ('89-'94) or s14 ('95+)?I have an s13 and it was $191.29 from http://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=0check and see if it's the amp (the little black box botled to the door) and test the motor itself. If it's a motor I have a spare, and if it's the amp then I might still be able to get you one.

Are you sure it's the motor and not the actual wire that may have snapped or come loose? My 90 240 wire snapped which caused it not to go up anymore. All I did was replace the wire.

If that doesn't work, JUNKYARD! No need to replace a motor spanking new that will cost you a pretty penny.

I had the same problem. search ebay for "240sx window motor" then save that URL as your homepage. Drivers side window motors are rare, so after a few days I found one being sold, got it for $60 with a one year warrenty. Dont waste you cash on new

Yeah the drivers side mirror motors on S14's are notorious for going out. OME is mighty expensive, check as many online sources as possible, including ebay, even on here. I doubt it's the amp I replaced mine and that wasn't the issue. Replacing these units look more challenging than they are, just go for it.

Yeah don't go replacing the window motor without testing stuff. I did that cuz the guy I bought mine from told me I just needed a motor when in fact I needed the amp.

Search "FSM" in this forum and you'll find the service manual in adobe for your car. If you have a ohm/voltmeter you can go through the diagnostic sequence and find out exactly what is wrong.

Amps are only like 100 something new ( if I remember correctly ).
