Hi, i just ordered an rb20det motor set with manual trans from jhot, and they sent pictures before i bought it. I decided to look up the vin from the picture they sent me, and found out the vin is from an automatic car, because it has GA in the vin, as opposed to GF (manual). The ecu also looks to be an auto, it has the number 23 on it. The motor has a manual transmission attached to it though. Will this be a problem, as in will the car run with an automatic ecu with a 5 speed transmission, like a ka 5 speed swap, or am i going to have to find a manual ecu, or even wiring harness?

auto ecu should work with the manny transmission

mite of been converted in jap as well, we swap ka to auto to manny all the time, why not a skyline?

jhot is a good company.

Although I would look at pull the transmission out and check if it has a manaul pilot bushing! (I have had this problem before).

Idk, about the ecu though. Ka24de can run off of a auto ecu. I would guess that would be the same concept.

Have fun with the new rb!

will not be a problem, you were going to put a new clutch on before you dropped it in right?

exactly my thoughts. You should do a full inspection on the motor before you even accept delivery on the thing. My engine came from JHOT a long time ago. They sell good stuff.

i bought mine with a auto when i got my engine it still had the auto flywheel attached if anything i think the auto engines have a less chance of getting the crap ran out of them. my engine runs perfect plan to get 350hp out of it here soon .
