HI,I hope this is the correct forum. 1994 Infiniti J30 will turn over, but won't start intermittently. Replaced MAF. Ran great for almost a month. Began problem again. Sprayed starting fluid would turn over didn't start. Turned over 5 days. on the 6th day car started. Idled for about 30 mins. twice car decreased rpm's almost shut off, but revved back to normal Drove car 5 mins up the street. Left the car idiling a couple minutes and drove home. Turned car off. Restarted no problem. Started car today March 2, 2010 no problem. Taking back to the shop in the am to recheck MAF.Any help I appreciate.

Not sure if this is your problem or not, but you might want to check to see if you have a cracked distributor cap.

I had a Maxima that had one, and anytime any sort of moisture got in there, it wouldn't start... and then it would run kinda rough for a while when it finally DID start. After about a week of dry weather, it would run pretty good. Something to look into anyway. Good luck!

This sounds like a bad electrical connection or ground somewhere maybe to the fuel pump, make sure your main fuses are secure. To my knowlege, there is no distributer cap on the J.

I had the same Problem in my BMW 325Xi I replace the MAF. I seem to screwed up some thing. Any way I Replace the Idle controle Valve and Every thing was Good After that.

Let me know if that works.

HiThanks so much for the reply. I am @ a garage. Very reputable. Found a busted hose in another vehicle when a huge franchise said I needed a motor. Anyway the code came back coolant temp & O2 sensors need replacing. I knew the O2 sensor needed replacing. The temperature gauge stopped working a while ago.Problem solved. Thanks again
