On my 93 s13 I thought my passenger light went out but I took it out just to mess with it and put it back in and it came on I thought it was fixed but then it went out while I was driving and now it only comes on when it wants to. Today the other light started flickering on and off for like 2 minutes then was just fine I work hours to where its dark there and back and I could use any help to save time and figure this crap out.

I was wondering if I got H.I.D lights if that could overcome any problems?

sounds to me like high resistance in the circuit. but first things first check your ground

Ithink the ground is alright although i dont have a meter to check it. If the switch was going bad could it cause only one light and the high beams not to work?

If theres high resistance in the circuit is that the same as a bad ground?

absolutely yes. I had a almost the same problem and the switch was the culprit. worked fine on high beams, but one of my lights would just not work periodically.

In the mean time till I get the switch I was messing around with my car I took a test light and the fuses for the lights are getting power but the connectors to the lights arent
So if the switch doesnt fix it what could it be
