I have a 2008 2.5 coupe w/K&N intake.

I was sitting at a redlight this morning and the front half of my car started to shake, not vibrate, but shake. The radio never turned off. So I assumed no big deal until I lifted my foot off the brake and slowly started to roll backwards. I shifted into park and noticed that all the lights on the dash were lit up (brake, engine, tire, ect.) as if i had just pressed the start button twice to turn on the radio. So I hit the button with my foot on the brake and the car started normally and drove fine. I exited the freeway, stopped at another light and my car began to shake again, but didn't turn off.

Anyone have this problem with their coupe? Or know what a possible cause could be? (I'm assuming a bunch of things..) Any suggestions on what to do? Or should I just take it to the dealership?

Also, 2-3 weeks ago my car was at the dealership for an oil change and to fix the driver's seat because the motor in the seat broke. Do you think they effed something up when they had it?

This could possibly be related to the torque converter, assuming the CVT has one. However, a lot of times a bad torque converter will stall the engine when you are coming to a stop. But the symptoms I have experienced (in other cars) are shaking when coming to a stop followed by stalling. If you are able to bump the shifter into neutral just before you stop and the problem does not happen, then this could be the cause. Good luck, and you will probably have to take it to the dealer/shop.

yeah sounds serious. I had problems with my coupe this week as well, it wouldn't start and all the lights went on when i pressed the start button, like you mentioned. After 5 tries it started.... scared me, since it wasn't the battery.

Never heard of a problem like this! Hopefully, you're still under warranty and the dealership will fix.

Yes, I am still under warranty for another...300 miles. Lol so I guess I will take it in tomorrow to see if they can find any problems. Knowing the dealership..they will 'check things' and 'test drive' the car and will find nothing. I'll let ya guys know if they find anything wrong.

Thanks for the input/suggesetions

Oooooo, you only have 300 miles left on your warranty?!?!? Make sure they look at EVERYTHING you find wrong with the car before the warranty runs out! I did that and had them do a bunch of small, seemingly insignificant fixes, but hey, it's covered under the warranty!

As far as them not being able to diagnose the problem, if they try to pull this on you, I suggest you go along with them on test drive. Show them how and when it happens!

If they don't find anything, take it to another dealer

So the dealer said "we checked all the codes, fluids and test drove it and the car was fine. The only thing we suspect it could be is the intake".

And apparently I have the extended warranty up to 100k miles...but for the basic 36k warranty I only have about 150 miles left and I'm guessing that warranty covers way more things than the 100k. I won't be able to take it to another dealer until Saturday and I will be well over 36k by then.

I'm thinking of taking it to a shop and have them look for anything, if they find something and it's covered under Nissan warranty i'll take it back to the dealer.

It seems to me like the dealer did not want to take a good look at the car and just went ahead and blame it on the intake. It cant be the intale though I have the same on and it has never giving me any issues and Ive had it for over a year now. So I think the dealer as always are not trying to help you out.

I would def. try another dealer though.

Good Luck and keep us posted.
