I don't know whats wrong with it? The security indicator light flashes but it's suppose too. When I get in the car and hit the brake and hold the button it just wont start. It can't be the battery I've tried to jump it and no luck. starting to piss me off now. Any ideas

can someone confirm if this is true or not. If the battery dies I have to stick the fob in the slot in order for it to work? I've tried to jump it but not with the fob in the slot. The radio and alarm and everything work so I didn't think its the battery

when you tried to jump it did you hold the brake and push the button?

Yes.

everything seems normal but I don't know if I accidentally left something on all day today for it not to start. Wouldn't my car turn off if I left the radio on or something all day long? It's definitely not the lights cause I was driving during the day early this morning. I was going to try sticking my key fob in the slot and jumping it but it started to rain hard so I didn't. Try it again in a few minutes.

really don't want to deal with having this towed to the dealership and to go through all this with a brand new car. I almost want it to be something stupid like the battery being dead.

That is for the FOB battery when it is too low to start the car remotely. If you put it in the dash you can start the car a few times but must replace the fob battery asap. It has nothing to do with the car battery. I don't believe it negates the need to push the "start" button on a jump start.

Absolutely try the fob in the slot. Its part of the security feature that if that key dies, the car has a way to sense you are the owner. Try a jump start with the key fob inserted in the slot

well I got it to start but I have NO idea what the problem was. I did too many things and didn't narrow it down to one specific cause. I put the fob in the slot and engine starter to the battery and still nothing. Basically if I held the brakes and held the button the gauge lights would just turn off and nothing. So I took the key fob out and then decided to try again but this time it started right away.

no clue guys
