wow that sucks. Happened to a local friend of mine a while back. Cops found his stripped a few weeks later.

P.S. this is why the only parking space my car has ever sat in since I bought it is the parking space in my garage. I've never taken the car in public and left if parked, anywhere, ever. I fear with the trend and local auto trader ads reading "CRX for sale, will trade for 240sx" that I will never be allowed to park it

I feel for you I really do, but let me get this off my chest...

Please put an alarm with a kill switch on your car. The 240SX is stupidly easy to get into, and being surprised that this popular and inexpensive car got stolen is just dumb. I cannot count the number of times I have seen a car with 15K worth of mods not even have a decent anti-theft system. Rediculous.

Sorry about the loss man. But I may be able to help ya. I live in Lynnwood, not far north of Seattle, and about a couple of days ago I saw a 95 or 96 240 RED drivin' around, looked like it could have been an SE. A picture would help too. I'll definately keep my eyes open for it.

receipt from where? If you got enough information on it and you can find the place go to the store with the police and try to get a hold of the video at that time. If your lucky you might catch the guy on tape that made the purchase and then you'll feel better and another thief will be off the streets.

Guys, I think I can help. 1st check the reciept to see if u can tell if it was a cash transaction or a check or some type of credit card. If its a cash transaction, u got nothin'. 2nd there should be an address or store locater number on the reciept. Possibly even a phone number. get hold of the manager at that specific wal-mart. Tell him about how your car got stolen and you found a reciept in it from the thief. Then ask him if it is possible to look back (in the computer) for who, or any information, made the transaction. If he tells u that he can't give u that info, just ask him if it is possible. 3rd Go to the cops, tell them what happend to your car and about the receipt. What would really help get the cops involved would be to tell them the name of the cop you showed the reciept to the first time. Try and get the cops to get the info from the manager and nail that guy!

If you can not tell what kind of transaction it was, go to any wal-mart store and ask the service counter if they can tell what kind it was.

Also, if the cops fail to help, I guess u could always try a lawyer, but it might take some time and money.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Actually, it doesn't matter if the person paid cash or not. The receipt is stamped with time and register. They can review the tapes for that time and see if the transaction went down on tape...

Glad to hear you got the car back!

glad to see you got your car back...Since we are on the topic of theft, what a good, brand name theft system out there that is the bang for the buck?

Compustar owns. Vehicle tracking, built in turbo timer, hidden brain, 2 way pager, it's the $hit. fairly expensive though and install isn't cheap either.

vehicle tracking can be useful, to locate a heap of scrap metal when you barely find out its missing.
