Help!! My Car Got Robbed And They Messed It Up

okay..

saturday night at work ( i work at the mall ), some faggots broke into my car and stole my system. ( subs, amps, deck ).

the thing is...

i drive a automatic 240, and for you to be able to take the deck out u need to get the shifter all the way to 1st gear ( to create room to slip it out).

as we all know thats impossible unless you have the car on, and press on the breaks..

well...

they decided to force it back and **** everything up..

my car now does not go into park, the shifter moves when its not supposed to.. and my key obviously wont come out of the ignition since it doesnt go into park.

any idead of what i should expect to hear from the mechanic?

Hi,Man this sux, cuz I am gettin an Alpine deck soonand I know it's gonna make my car somewhat of a target.

I know I can take the face plate out and hide it but whatother options do I have besides getting an alarm orsomething? And we know everyone puts theirfaceplate in their glove-box.

all my friends put it under the seat

or take it into work with them. they have hard cases you can put them in so they dont get damaged. also you could hook up a stun gun (the kind that shoot) to like a 20 sec delay to your car alarm

thatd be cool. . . the have flame throwers in isreal. or tint the windows. or like i did in my altima, since you have a double din- leave the stock radio in the top and the alpine in the bottom, then take the face off the alpine. cool huh?good luck

That's harsh man . . but round where I live is much worse . . . Queens, New York . . , **** . . over here . .they'll steal your wife and kids and you can't do much about it . .I'de say .. just get one with a removable face at least, get tinted windows so they can't see the goods inside, and get a viper alarm, if all that doesn't work .. . just keep a bat with you at all times so that when you finally catch the faggots you'll get em for good ;-)

yea it does suck really bad.

my fault tho, no alarm.. i hate tinted windows tho but i think that just helped them, cus noone could see them in my car

does anyone know what is wrong with my shifter tho,???

and how much it will cost 2 fix?

I know exactly what's wrong with your shifter. The pin that holds the shift linkage to your shifter broke or got lose. Take your console out, take your shift console out and you should be able to see the shift linkage is not connected to your shifter. Use a meter wire or clip or whatever to hold it back until you get yourself a SR swap or Manual swap.

Your gear is probably stuck at 2nd gear. Happened to me once and I had to shift manually, i mean, manually as in sticking your hand down to the hole that is ontop of the driveshaft and pull the shift linkage to put it on Drive....I fixed it though, takes like 10 mins to fix. Let me know if that helps.

To all that are worried about there stuff getting stolen, if you dont put stickers on your car or have wires hangin out then most people wont know you have anything. Decks, if you just take the face plate off. The main thing is dont put like alpine stickers or stickers telling what you have. Tint might actually bring people to your car, if you can afford tint and care that much you usually have a system.

ya, oh i saw an electrified club. like a steering wheel lock with a wireless remote. when its armed and someone touches it- it gives em like 200,000 volts. even if they are stealing the system they are pretty likely to touch the steering wheel.

bah. you think they would tho? honestly if its brought before a jury theres not many people who would let that by. and electrified dtun guns are not weapons, as classified by the US gov. the interrupt 't-waves' or brain waves and knock you out for a couple hours. no harm done. and if they did you could use a case about a woman using a stun gun as self defense as a precident.

yea ive been debating on putting 2 10s in my trunk and amping my tweeters a bit too, but everyones stuff is gettin stolen now, i have a friend who had 3 12s in his truck, a faceplate and 2 600watt amps, had it for two days and it got stolen, i asked him, dude i thought u JUST got that alarm put in!!< he asnwers , 'well i put it in myself' (bieng teh cheap asz that the is) and the retard wired it to where it would ONLY go off if u OPENED THE DOOR!!, they simply broke the window and took all his crap!!
