Help my A/c is dOWN! and its killer hot in Texas

Hello guys, i have a 240sx 1991 ka24de. it has about 150,XXX miles on the stock motor. I had the a/c coolent refilled about a year ago and have not been using the a/c for a while since christmas did not pass to long ago and it has not been that hot. Well summer is here and in Houston, Texas it goes to 100 degress sometimes. so bassiclly its steaming hot! what happends is when i turn my car on, and then the a/c there is a loud squeaking sound. This only happends when i turn it on and it stays for a long time. The belt is tight, i checked it. Does anyyone know waht i should do? i rather not replace the whole compressor. and if so is it complicated? Thanks GUys!q
