As I was on the phone with K&N tech support, I realized that I was missing a hose. There is a hose outlet on the firewall next to the brake booster which has no hose connected to to. I took a couple of pictures (see below). Could somebody please please please let me know if there is supposed to be a hose on here and where the hose should be connected.

Closeup of hose outlet, you can see the brake booster on the right and the oil dipstick really close up

A little farther back so you can see the general location of hose outlet

Also, the K&N tech support agent still didn't know which hose I was missing from the intake. Could somebody also please let me know where the hose in the picture below (the left circled hose) goes to? I really appreciate the help.

I'm missing the hose circled in red on the left

The missing hose being connected to the K&N intake tube (from installation instructions)

THANKS GUYS!!!

I took a look and found your missing connection is the throttle cable. Without that, you can't drive the car.

It's the outlet for the throttle cable?

The 2003 model has acceleration-by-wire so it doesn't use a throttle cable, the throttle body is electronically controlled. That's weird they would leave the hole there. So I guess I'm good there. Still don't know about the missing air box hose tho.

Oh, I didn't know this change in 2003. I wish I had the electronic wire, not the traditional cable.

To reduce cost, production people don't change things for new design unless it's absolutely necessary. To leave the cable hole there is better than change the drawing as well as the production line setup...

Yeah I was actually really surprised when I bought the car that it used an electronic throttle.

The left red circled connection goes to a metal tube in the middle of the engine if you look from the front, and this metal tube goes towards left side of the engine then another rubber hose continues to the left side and turns towards the back side of the engine. there is a device vertically placed with two connections on its top. The rubber hose connects to one of them close to the front of the car.

I know very little so I am not sure you could picture what I described. And I don't know how to post pictures.

QX4ME, thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it. Your description is perfect, I know exactly what you're talking about because I was able to find a schematic of the hoses.

It turns out that the 2003 model doesn't utilize this hose, it was only used in 2001 and 2002 models. K&N didn't know this so they just added it to the intake tube anyhow.

Thanks for your help tho!

Someone with dyslexia might read the thread title as 'missing hoes'.
