Ok, one day out of nowhere my car started making this new noise. The only thing i did before this noise started was went over a speedbump, i didn't go over it too fast or anything, but that's all i can think of that could have caused it.

Well, it's a very loud noise when you are inside the car, when you are in the driverseat, it sounds like it is coming from where the dash meets the windshield right in front of you. it's sounds kind of like an intake sucking up air, but it kind of has a pulse to it, and it speeds up as my rpm rises. When I pop the hood, it's very hard to hear from the outside, I just noticed the other day, the easiest way to hear it is if you leave the hood shut, and just put your ear where the hood meets the windshield on the driverside of the car. I haven't noticed a performance difference at all, nor have I noticed any of my accessories suffering. I've been driving with it like this for the past 3 weeks or so. Does anyone have an idea as to what this could be? I don't think it's the engine, I think it's an accessory or something... It doesn't change at all when I screw around with the air/heat, etc. It's really loud and very apparent while driving.

Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

thanks,Ben

Could be a leak somewhere in the exhaust sytem. You might of bumped something on the speedbump. Put the car up on stands and start the engine. Listen for exhaust leaks on all the flanges. Header, Cat converter, exhaust.

it's definately not an exhaust leak. it sounds like it's closer to inside of the car. like right behind the steering wheel. i have other noises which include: exhaust manifold leak, exhaust manifold heat shield vibration, throwout bearing noise, cracked intake whistle, and maybe another one here or there. this is definately not any of those. it is either a part of the engine (Which i dont think it is) or a part that is driven by the engine.

any other ideas? :(

Car: That would be obvious....

probably a vaccum leak. IMO. check all of your hoses towards the back side of the intake manifold.
