Help Me Use My Camcorder

I just got this camcorder for xmas and i dont know how to transfer movies onto my comuter, its a digital camcorder and the program it comes with is stupid and doesnt work. its is samsung scd103 it has the following options easy q, easy navigator, memory stick slot, mpeg4 movie. i just want to be able to shoot a video and put it on my comp to share with friends. i got a usb connection and monster cable(IEEE 1394 FireWire) please help methank you

I'm pretty sure you need some kind of video capture card to work with it...something to plug the cable in from the camcorder to the computer. Firewire. I use Pinnacle Systems: http://www.pinnaclesys.com

I have a plug in my comp for the IEEE 1394 FireWire moster cable and i can see whatever is recorded on the tape in a folder when i hit play on the camera but thats it. I have a Sony Vaio purchased 2 years ago...what progran should i use to play ASF my windows media player cant get the codec for it.
