Help me to choise a radar

My fiancee is getting me a radar for my b-day, and Im debating between the Bel Vector 940 & 960.

960, i prefer the V1 myself :pface(too bad its so expensive)

V1 sucks, I had one (got it for free) and nothing but false alarms, **** that pos sold it for 200 bucks.

I also recently read that the V1 (which was long the detector I wanted) doesnt work as well on Ka band but is still excellent on two older bands (X and K I think?) I have decided I will have to go with a Bell 980 or 8500 probably myself

id say out of those two, mite as well splurge and get the 96o, i mean really, r u gonna look back and say, damn, i shouldnt have spent that extra $5o??

Do those radars actually work? I mean, is there anyone here that can actually say that those things saved them $$ on possible tickets? I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to those things. Someone, enlighten me..
