Help me!!

So i drove it around the block with my mom and. As soon as i put it over 2K RPM the ABS and AIRBAG light came on, but then went away. Then I floored it and it went no where. NO ACCELERATION. I felt like i was driving a hynundai. I only drove it for 15 mins, and it has been sitting in the garage for like 6 months. Does it need real driving, or a tune up? My mom and Dad are taking it to Nissan soon to get it inspected and checked out. Any ideas on the bad acceleration. I felt like 30HP instead of 220

o ya, the muffler sounds like ****. does it just need warming up? It didnt sound that way 6months ago.

It sounds to me like your engine is gunked up. Change out your oil. Before you do that run some seafoam through the engine/airintake/gastank, and once you've changed your oil, run some Berryman's Chemtool through your gastank. Go with synthetic oil.

The muffler could have caved in because you had a backfire. That'll kill a lot of performance real quick.

All those lights may mean your alternator is going (not providing enough). Is your CEL on? Also might be clogged cats.

drove again, and its got better pick up. since its been sitting for 7 months the battery of course was dead. So I jump start it everytime to drive it. It has only been driven a total of .5 hours since it has been sitting. How much longer till the battery is charged? After a night of sitting after driving it, it just has enough power to turn on the interior lights. When will it have enough to start teh car with out jump starting it?

Depends on the Alternator and Battery health.Start it up outside and let it Idle for awhile.

brand new alternator was installed in like july.

Your best bet is to trickle charge the battery with a battery charger. Alternators do a poor job of rejuvenating a dead battery.

no more jumpstarting. after driving for an hour car is perfect again. Except GAS MILLAGE SUCKS . As you know I am only 16, and I had to pay $46 at the pump Sunday

When I was 16, seemingly like you my Mom bought my first car. But if I wanted to drive anywhere or buy anything for it, off to work I went. Gas was mine to pay.

My 2nd car was a 97 Dodge Dakota 4x4 Ext Cab V8 bought it new with 2500 miles, payment was in the $500 range with gas milage in the 10-12mpg range. Gas was $0.89/gal and I was spending $60/wk. so $46 isnt too bad with prices around $4/gal.

So enjoy having no car payment and only having to cover gas, and more than likely your parents covering any major repairs.

One day you'll wish you didnt have bills. lol

I paid for every car Ive had .#1 was a Furd Pinto and gas was about 32 cents a gallon :O)Helluva engine in those ole pinto's.German made 2 liter that ran like a bat outta hades.
